Reedin SUPERNATURAL SSD Wing 2023
From £1,029.00
Reedin SUPERNATURAL SSD Wing 2023
An all new wing from Reedin launched in 2023. (SSD stands for Short Span Design)
If there’s one thing exciting about WingFoiling, it’s the possibility of riding and having fun in much lighter winds than many other windsports. We’ve been looking at how to spend even more time on the water, without compromising a wing in ease of use when it comes to handling or performance. That’s why Reedin have come up with the Short Span Design.
SUPERNATURAL SSD has a shorter wingspan by increasing the strut length, but also by adding two side struts, which allow for more a more boxed shape in the wingtips. This shape is also perfect for lightwind performance! For added ease of use, Reedin increased the dihedral (arc) angle to keep the wingtips from touching the water. Combined with Reedins new rigid handles, these large wings are super easy to handle and absolute beasts in light wind performance.
Three Sizes: 6.0m, 7.2m and 8.2m
Two Colours: Jet Black (CC1) and Neptune Blue (CC2)

But that’s not all! We all know that light winds can easily pick up, so we made sure to tune the canopy and profile so that it stays very controllable in higher winds so you don’t have to worry about switching wings and can keep on riding and focus on what you love doing.
It is extremely versatile and will help you start your Wingfoiling journey and take you right through to riding waves, jumping massive, pulling tricks, and going for speed runs with your friends.
Reedin focused on making the SUPERNATURAL and the SUPERNATURAL SSD wings as aerodynamically efficient as possible. To achieve this, Reedin started on an improvement to their unique Triple layer Leading Edge construction making it lighter while focusing even more stiffness in key zones in the centre of the Leading Edge where most of the forces are concentrated. The stiffness will amaze you right from your first use.
Reedin then re-designed the overall profile and canopy profile using their new 100% vertical seams. This means that the vertical seams now run all the way from the very front of the wing to the trailing edge to avoid any shear transverse seam load. This translates into a much stiffer canopy and that stiffness makes for a very direct and tight wing in your hands when riding and ensures much longer longevity.
The tensioned canopy throughout the wing provides a very direct response and also minimises flutter when sheeted out, or riding free-fly for terrific stability allowing you to focus 100% on your riding.
Every panel of material has been meticulously designed for the best power to weight ratio.
New oval section rigid handles provide exceptional control of the wing and will take your manoeuvres from first tacks to air rotations to a whole new level.
The design objectives focused on efficiency, stability, power, natural positive lift and forward drive. This was achieved through the use of a specific Arc shape, a stiff frame for direct response, a unique profile for natural lift giving a wing that naturally flares out in order to fly forward as soon as the wind flows across the canopy.

Features
Vertical tension seams. Canopy seams are running vertically along the wing, each seam rigidifies and takes on most of the load, this provides a stiffer canopy that will have minimum deformation while riding and over time.
Tensioned canopy for the most stable profile and wing, this provides a very direct feel with minimal flutter when riding and also ensures a very stable ride in both neutral style riding when you simply hold the wind in the wing using the front handle and riding position.
Triple layer Lading Edge exclusive gradiated LE in the centre provides a very stiff wing for direct and efficient feel.
Evolutive dihedral Each size has a specifically tuned dihedral angle for an optimum projected wingspan. This provides the best and easiest handling per size.
Evolutive dihedral Each size has a specifically tuned dihedral angle for an optimum projected wingspan. This provides the best and easiest handling per size.
S-strut with recessed handles: The back of the strut is directly connected to the canopy for a very direct feel, the recess at level of handles offer the best ergonomics possible.
Rigid handles Featuring an oval section giving you perfect control of the roll of the wing, allowing to precisely position your wing in all riding situations.
Strut deflate valve on the centre strut for fast deflation combined with a 9mm one pump nozzle for faster inflation and deflation. The nozzle/dump valve are located in the very front of the strut which acts as a lock for the strut bladder to prevent unwanted twisting movements of the bladder when the wing is deflated ensuring longevity of the bladder.
Windows made with military grade clear materials. Light, durable and weather proof, can be folded with confidence and most importantly does not modify the wing handling and performance thanks to the weight and torsional/tension characteristics of the window material being similar to the materials in the canopy.
Evolutive dihedral
All the SUPERNATURAL SSD wings have a specifically tuned dihedral for an optimum projected wingspan and the increased dihedral helps keeping the wingtips out of the water and improves ease of use whilst getting you out on the water and foiling in light winds.
